£1 for 150g (less than the normal 227g - 8 ounces) so worth a try. Roast strength 4, so quite dark. There's no refinement in this. It tastes like what it is - a cheap, sludgy coffee. Not nice to drink on its own. I'm either going to throw this away, or use it in a blend to power up something weak. The coffee was packaged by Finlays, a tea company founded in 1750, who also specialise in packaging tea and coffee for supermarket own labels at a range of quality and budget levels.

I liked it :)
ReplyDeleteVery good flavour!! Cannot remember what shops sell this.
ReplyDeleteMy co-op used to sell this, now they have suddenly stopped, HELP, can I buy it on line please?
ReplyDeleteThe suppliers (Finlays, the supermarket own brand company) are Out of stock
ReplyDeleteThe coffee is a blend of Robusta from Vietnam (a sturdy, low cost bean which is generally used to bulk out cheaper coffee blends because of the strength and depth of its flavour) and Arabica beans from Columbia and Brazil. The beans from Columbia and Brazil are not the problem, it's the Robusta beans from Vietnam that are holding things up. Vietnam was in lockdown last year, and is only slowly and bit by bit starting to unlock, so it will take a while before things are back to normal. You might find that supplies are back in a month or two.
